About About Horizon AI

Practical AI implementation for Australian businesses, run by Adam Dong.

Horizon AI is a small Australian AI implementation partner. We build AI workflows inside the software your team already uses — CRMs, inboxes, documents, finance tools, industry platforms — with human review on the decisions that matter. No platform to learn, no slide-deck strategy, no AI for AI's sake.

What Horizon AI actually does

Horizon AI builds and ships practical AI workflows for Australian businesses. Most engagements take one visible business process — client document chasing, inbox triage, matter intake, fact-find preparation, support ticket triage — and ship a reviewed AI workflow that runs inside the team's existing systems within 1–4 weeks.

The work spans three engagement shapes: scoped Flex builds for one workflow at a time, Dedicated implementation rhythms for businesses adding multiple workflows over months, and Advisory for the senior strategy call when the question is "where does AI fit?" rather than "build me this thing."

Most clients are Australian SMBs — accounting firms, law firms and conveyancers, real estate agencies, mortgage brokers, clinics, recruitment agencies, insurance brokers, professional services firms, training providers, and ecommerce teams. We work remotely from anywhere in Australia.

Who Adam is

Adam Dong is the founder of Horizon AI and the person on every discovery call. Background spans operations, integration and AI implementation across Australian SMBs. The reason there is one named person on every call is simple: AI implementation lives or dies on judgement calls that don't survive a sales-rep handoff.

Engagements run founder-led from discovery through scope, build and handover. For Dedicated retainers there's a small implementation team behind Adam; for Flex builds and Advisory it's typically Adam directly. This is intentional — AI workflow scoping is the place where the wrong question gets you a build that doesn't earn out, and that scoping work doesn't delegate well.

How we work — methodology in one page

Every Horizon AI engagement follows the same four phases — Discovery, Scope, Deploy, Expand. The point isn't novelty; the point is that AI implementations that skip phases tend to break in production, and ones that stretch each phase tend to overrun budget. We aim to be the most boringly competent AI implementation partner you've worked with.

  • Discovery (week 0–1): map the current workflow, the software stack, the data access points, the approval rules, and the people who'll review the AI output. No AI yet — just understanding what's actually broken.
  • Scope (week 1): pick one narrow workflow, name the trigger, name the review gate, name the output. Write a one-page scope, quote per workflow, and confirm before any code is written.
  • Deploy (weeks 1–4): build the workflow, test against real data, document the runbook, hand it over with training. The workflow runs inside your software with audit logging and human approval on regulated decisions.
  • Expand (week 4+): operate the workflow for 60–90 days, gather real data on time saved and edge cases hit, then scope the next workflow from a position of evidence.

The tools we work with

Frontier AI models include Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Gemini (Google). Every Horizon build picks the right model for the task rather than running one model for everything. For private deployments, OpenClaw and client-owned infrastructure cover sensitive internal workflows.

On the integration side, we build inside the Australian SMB stack: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Outlook, Gmail, Teams, Slack, SharePoint; CRMs like HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho CRM; finance tools like Xero, MYOB, Karbon, FYI, Dext, Hubdoc, ApprovalMax; and the 85+ Australian-relevant sector tools covered on our software pages.

Where the platform doesn't have an API, we use approved partner integration paths, scheduled exports, or owned middleware. We won't break your software vendor's terms of service to make a workflow easier to ship.

What Horizon AI won't do

There are workflows we'll turn down: anything that requires bypassing a platform's terms of service, anything that pretends AI is doing supervised professional work it's not allowed to do (final legal advice, final medical diagnosis, final tax positions without practitioner review), anything that fabricates client testimonials or experience, and anything that knowingly violates Australian Privacy Act obligations.

We'd rather lose an engagement than ship a workflow that breaks in a way that costs the client more than it saves. That's not virtue signalling — it's just what the work demands when you actually have to maintain the thing six months later.

Where we work from

Horizon AI is remote-first across Australia — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Gold Coast and regional. Discovery calls happen on Google Meet, builds happen with shared screens and async updates, handover happens with documentation and a recorded runbook walkthrough. In-person workshops in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane are available when the situation calls for it.

How to start

The cheapest first step is a free 30-minute strategy session with Adam. Bring one workflow you want to improve and we'll sketch a concrete first build before the call ends. If we can't help, we'll say so. There's no follow-up sequence, no enterprise sales motion — book the call only if you actually want to talk about a real workflow.

If you'd rather read first, the resources hub covers AI implementation cost in Australia, software comparisons, and the consultant-vs-agency decision in detail.
